THE CHALLENGE
I was brought on board by Alpha Omega to work on their branding and web design.Β
My first step was to meet with the owner and go through a branding questionnaire to get to know his values and thought process around his business, operations, and his clients.Β This guides my visual design and color way.
Alpha Omega is a construction company that places customer satisfaction as top priority and strives to earn people's trust.

DESIGN requirements
The client came to me with references he had gathered for the logo.Β The logo design had to follow these requirements:
β
ππ½ consist of wordmark + house/building pictorial
ππ½ modern style
ππ½ blue and possibly red for brand colors
I did some market research and found many businesses with similar visual imagery tied to their logos so I recognized that it was going to be a challenge to create something original and memorable.

IDEATION
βI ideated concepts and presented him with two rounds of logos that incorporated the elements he requested.Β I noticed he looked unsure and hesitant about the concepts.
During our discussions, I advised him that:
β οΈ blue tones were more suitable for his brand message
β οΈ letting go of the house/building pictorial would yield a more unique and recognizable brand

PIVOTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROCESS
I took the reins on creative direction and for the final round I presented him with two options:
β
βοΈ a logo I ideated that was completely different from the references he had shown me
βοΈ a revision on a concept that won the last round
β
The result: the client loved the one that was different from everything else I had shown him thus far.Β I noticed his immediate reaction during our in person meeting.
